5 Minute Healthy, Kid Friendly French Toast

Whether you're dealing with picky eaters or feeling like you're in a food rut, this warm cinnamon French toast is sure to peak your interest (and your taste buds)! My favorite part of this recipe is how quick it is to make. Another bonus, I already had all the ingredients on hand! What's easier than that?

Makes 2 pieces of French toast

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of Dave's Killer thinly sliced seeded bread (or any whole wheat bread you like)

  • 1 egg

  • Splash of milk (about 1 tbsp)

  • Splash of vanilla extract (about 1 tsp)

  • Dash of cinnamon (about 1 tsp)

  • 1 tsp butter

  • (Optional) toppings: sliced banana/any fruit, berries, more cinnamon and/or 100% pure maple syrup for a more indulgent breakfast

Directions:

  1. Mix egg, milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a medium bowl.

  2. Dredge each slice of bread in egg mixture and cook in a lightly buttered pan over medium high heat until each side is golden brown.

  3. Serve with sliced fruit and enjoy!

  4. Optional: while toast is cooking, scramble, boil or fry up a side of egg for a protein rich side dish!
